Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is a specialized agency founded on 16 October 1945 in Quebec City, Canada, to lead international efforts to defeat hunger, improve nutrition, and achieve food security.[1][2] Headquartered in Rome, it coordinates global programs in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and related resources, working with 195 members across over 130 countries.[3][4] Its motto, 'fiat panis,' translates to 'let there be bread.'[1]
