Joseph S Schmidt

Joseph Schmidt (1904–1942) was an Austro-Hungarian and Romanian Jewish tenor celebrated for his powerful, distinctive voice and recordings. Born in Davideny near Czernowitz in Bukovina, he rose to international fame but died while fleeing Nazi persecution in Switzerland.
