John T Irwin
John T. Irwin (1940-2019) was a prominent American literary scholar and poet, serving as the Decker Professor in the Humanities emeritus at Johns Hopkins University. He authored influential books on authors like Faulkner, Poe, Borges, Hart Crane, and F. Scott Fitzgerald, including 'Doubling and Incest,' 'The Mystery to a Solution' (which won the Gauss Prize), and 'American Hieroglyphics.' Under the pseudonym John Bricuth, he published poetry and edited literary journals such as The Georgia Review.
