John Lawson

John Lawson (1674–1711) was an English explorer, naturalist, and writer best known for his account of colonial Carolina, *A New Voyage to Carolina* (1709). He helped found Bath and New Bern in North Carolina and served as Carolina’s first Surveyor General.[2][3]
