Beverley Johnston

Beverley Johnston, born June 4, 1957, in Lachine, Quebec, is one of Canada's leading classical percussionists, renowned for commissioning, performing, and recording works by over sixty Canadian composers, many of which have become staples in the global percussion repertoire.[1][2][4] She is the first Canadian to gain significant international recognition as a classical percussion soloist, has taught at the University of Toronto since 1996, and in 2024 was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada and inducted into the Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame.[1][2][4]
