Anne Doughty
Anne Doughty was born on August 7, 1939, in Armagh, Northern Ireland, attended Queen's University Belfast, and worked as a geography teacher before becoming a prolific author of historical and romantic fiction rooted in Irish settings.[1][2][4] Her debut novel, A Few Late Roses, was longlisted for the Irish Times fiction prize, and she wrote series like the Hamiltons, returning to Belfast in 1998 after years in England.[1][2][6] She passed away at age 79 after battling heart problems.[3]
