In the process of writing this book, I wanted to share not only my life, but the lives of everyone who's inspired me and changed me for the better. For every facet of life is experienced from our relations with others. We are a product of what we've learned and the environments we've grow in. But we're also students, capable of achieving new understandings and the freedom to pass it along. One of the greatest lessons I've learned is shared emotions creates empathy, providing the path of showing compassion. Regardless of the native language or location, that I've traveled to, this common factor has led me to discover a new way of living. From Detroit, to New York, to India, Japan, France and back, I've grown from the various expressions of love that healed me, and I've discovered how to give that love back. This book is a testament that love exists all around us and is sometimes presented in less-than-ideal ways, but, even then, it still manages to shine forth. It's a roadmap of my life and the transformation God has taken me through, but it's also a testimony of the lives that have forever changed mine.
