OOMPIE & FRIENDS is a true story following a day in the life of the animals on my farm. As we meet the animals, we also see what life is like on a little piece of land in the Australian bush - a far cry from the hustle and bustle of city living. My daughter inspired me to write my memories of a part of my life I will always cherish and I want to help children realise they too can experience something special with our land and animals. The Australian bushland and its flora and fauna can take you on a wonderful exploratory journey. My daily routine always included wandering the bush tracks with my animals trailing along and to share my little adventures has been like an explosion of photographic memory of my wonderfully playful animals and their unique personalities! The beautiful illustrations are based on photographs of the farm, animals and me, "Nanny Legs"; a name my children have given to me because I have the same leg shape as my mother! Together with my daughter, we created a book to share with my grandchildren, their friends and beyond.
