This is the story of a man controlling run-away fear, in an environment where there is every reason to lose control; an environment where a collection of slightly armed rustic ships and their crews were combating against lurking submarines and the terrifying sounds of diving airplanes and their cargo of bombs, fought off the battle ground of the formidable North Sea.
