This rhetoric/worktext is designed for developmental writing courses that focus on paragraph writing skills in preparation for essay writing. This text stresses the four keys to effective writing - unity, support, coherence and sentence skills. The chapter on writing a research paper has been revised, incorporating a complete student research paper and the chapter on using the library includes current computerized research facilities. In addition the "introduction to paragraph development" has been expanded to include writing for a specific purpose and audience, using peer review and using a personal checklist.
