Zoltán Kövecses
Zoltán Kövecses is a Hungarian linguist, lexicographer, and former water polo player, renowned for his work in conceptual metaphor theory, emotions conceptualization, and cognitive linguistics.[1][2][4] He earned his M.A. from Eötvös Loránd University in 1972 and Ph.D. and D.Sc. from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1988 and 1996, respectively, and serves as Professor Emeritus in the Department of American Studies at Eötvös Loránd University.[1][2] Kövecses has authored several Hungarian-English and English-Hungarian dictionaries, receiving awards like the Országh László Prize in 2004, and has taught at institutions including UC Berkeley, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Rutgers University.[1][2]
