Zhou Xiaowen

Zhou Xiaowen is a Chinese filmmaker born in 1954 in Beijing, who graduated from the Cinematography Department of the Beijing Film Academy in 1975 and is part of the Fifth Generation of Chinese directors. Known for thrillers that achieved commercial success, several of his films faced government censorship and limited release. He gained international recognition with the 1994 film Ermo.
