Zhiqiang An

Zhiqiang An is a Professor of Molecular Medicine at McGovern Medical School, UTHealth Houston, holding the Robert A. Welch Distinguished University Chair in Chemistry, and serving as Director of the Texas Therapeutics Institute and Vice President of Drug Discovery.[1][2] After a 15-year career in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, primarily at Merck, he joined UTHealth Houston as the founding director of the Texas Therapeutics Institute, focusing on antibody drug discovery for diseases like cancer, Alzheimer's, and infectious diseases.[2][3] He earned his PhD from the University of Kentucky in 1991 and has authored over 200 journal articles and two books, including the award-winning 'Therapeutic Monoclonal Antibodies: from Bench to Clinic.'[1][3]
