Yoshiko Kakudo

Yoshiko Kakudo (1934–2016) was a prominent curator of Japanese art at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, serving from 1970 until her retirement in 1994, and later honored as Curator Emeritus. Born in Osaka, Japan, she earned a B.A. in Sociology from Kobe College in 1957 and an M.A. in Decorative Art from UC Berkeley in 1964. She is also recognized for translating Toru Takemitsu's essays into English in the collection Confronting Silence: Selected Writings (1971).[1][2][3][4]
