Ya-Xiong Tao

Ya-Xiong Tao is a Professor of Physiology at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he joined in 2004 after earning his PhD from the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China, and completing postdoctoral training at the University of Louisville and University of Iowa. His research focuses on G protein-coupled receptors, melanocortin receptors, obesity, and genomic medicine, with 172 publications and over 7,700 citations. In 2025, he was named an Auburn University Alumni Professor.
