Xuejia Lai

Xuejia Lai is a Chinese cryptographer and professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, renowned for co-designing the block cipher IDEA based on the Lai-Massey scheme, developing the theory of Markov ciphers, and contributing to the cryptanalysis of cryptographic hash functions.[1][2] He authored the influential book 'On the Design and Security of Block Ciphers' and leads the Institute of Cryptography and Information Security at his university.[1][4]
