Woody Brown

Woody Brown is a non-speaking autistic American author known for his 2026 debut novel Upward Bound, published by Hogarth. Diagnosed with severe autism in early childhood, he became the first nonspeaking autistic graduate of UCLA in 2022, receiving the English Department's Christopher Zyda Creative Writing Award, and earned an MFA in creative writing from Columbia University in 2024 using facilitated communication.[1][2][3]
