Wolfgang Roth

Wolfgang Max Wilhelm Roth was a German pastor of the United Church of Canada and an Old Testament scholar who made major contributions to Old Testament scholarship from 1959 through 2013. He served as a pastor in Canada until 1959, then as professor at Leonard Theological College in Jabalpur, India (1959–1967), and later at Garrett–Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois (1967–1996), continuing to teach until his death. Educated at Victoria University in Toronto and the universities of Tübingen, Heidelberg, and Marburg, he was the son of Kaethe and Ludwig Wilhelm Roth.[1]
