Wolfgang Langewiesche
Wolfgang Langewiesche was a German-born aviator, journalist, and writer best known for his classic aviation book *Stick and Rudder* (1944), which remains a standard reference on fixed-wing flying. He was born in Düsseldorf, emigrated to the United States in 1929, and also worked as a test pilot and contributor to major publications such as *Life* and the *Saturday Evening Post*.
