Winfred Blevins
Winfred Blevins (1938–2023) was an American author renowned for his fiction and non-fiction works on the American West, particularly western mountain trappers, with notable books including Stone Song, So Wild a Dream, and Dictionary of the American West. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, he worked as a critic and instructor before becoming a full-time writer in 1972, earning awards like the Owen Wister Award and two Spur Awards.
