William Wegman

William Wegman is an American artist born in 1943 in Holyoke, Massachusetts, best known for his conceptual photography, video, and paintings featuring his Weimaraner dogs in whimsical costumes and poses.[1][2][3][5] Initially trained as a painter with a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art in 1965 and an MFA from the University of Illinois in 1967, he pioneered video art in the 1970s before gaining fame for his dog portraits starting with Man Ray.[1][3][4] His work, blending humor and absurdity, has been exhibited worldwide and earned awards like Guggenheim Fellowships.[1][2]
