William Wang

William Shi-Yuan Wang is a Chinese linguist known for his work in phonology, historical linguistics, and the history of Chinese language and culture. He was born in Shanghai, studied at Columbia College, and later became a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where he also founded the Journal of Chinese Linguistics in 1973.
