William V. Dorsaneo

William V. Dorsaneo III, known as 'Professor Dorsaneo,' was a distinguished legal scholar and educator who earned his J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law, graduating first in his class. He served as a professor at SMU Dedman School of Law from 1975 until his retirement and was the principal author of the influential 26-volume Texas Litigation Guide, often called 'Dorsaneo's.' He passed away on March 15, 2026, near his home in San Antonio, Texas[1][2].
