William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare (baptized April 26, 1564 – April 23, 1616) was an English playwright, poet, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. Born in Stratford-upon-Avon, he became a key member of the Lord Chamberlain's Men (later King's Men) acting company around 1594, writing at least 37 plays, 154 sonnets, and narrative poems that explore human emotion and conflict.
