William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare (baptized April 26, 1564 – April 23, 1616) was an English playwright, poet, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. Born in Stratford-upon-Avon, he became a key member of the Lord Chamberlain's Men (later King's Men) acting company around 1594, writing at least 37 plays, 154 sonnets, and narrative poems that explore human emotion and conflict. His works from the Elizabethan and Jacobean eras remain influential worldwide.
