William R. Jacobs

William R. Jacobs Jr. is a distinguished professor of Microbiology & Immunology and Genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, renowned for his pioneering work in the molecular genetics of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and the development of gene-transfer systems to identify drug targets. He is also a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator and a leading scientist in tuberculosis and HIV research in sub-Saharan Africa.
