William Langland

William Langland was a 14th-century English poet, best known for his allegorical narrative poem 'Piers Plowman'. His work is considered one of the most significant Middle English texts, combining religious and social satire. Details of his life are scarce, but he is believed to have been born in the West Midlands and possibly educated in Oxford.
