William Foote Whyte

William Foote Whyte (1914-2000) was an American sociologist renowned for his seminal ethnographic work *Street Corner Society*, which examined social structures in Boston's North End Italian community through participant observation.[1][3] He pioneered industrial sociology, studying workers and cooperatives in the US and Latin America, authored 20 books, and served as President of the American Sociological Association.[1][2][4]
