William E. Wiesel

Dr. William E. Wiesel is a Professor Emeritus of Aerospace Engineering at the Air Force Institute of Technology, where he joined the faculty in 1977 and has served for over 40 years. He earned a BS from the University of Massachusetts in 1970, an MS from Harvard University in 1972, and a PhD in Astronomy from Harvard in 1974. His research focuses on orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, satellite stability, chaos theory, and optimal control, and he authored the leading text 'Spaceflight Dynamics' along with over 25 technical papers and three texts in modern astrodynamics.[1][4][6]
