William E. Mayer
William E. Mayer was an American government official who served as the Administrator for the Alcohol, Drug Abuse, and Mental Health Administration from 1981 to 1983 and later as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs from 1983 to 1989. He was also a prominent Wall Street figure, former CEO of First Boston, and founder of Park Avenue Equity Partners, a private equity firm. Mayer held leadership roles in various educational and business institutions, including serving as dean of the University of Maryland's business school.
