William Bell

William Edwin Bell (1945–2016) was a Canadian author of award-winning young adult fiction, best known for novels like Forbidden City and Crabbe. Born in Toronto, Ontario, he worked as a high school English teacher in Ontario and taught English in China at Harbin University of Science and Technology and the Foreign Affairs College in Beijing. His books have been translated into nine languages and won awards including the Manitoba Readers’ Choice Award, Mr. Christie’s Award, Ruth Schwartz Award, and Canadian Librarians’ Association Award.
