William Arthur Scholes
William Arthur Scholes was a member of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE), serving as one of fourteen men who manned the first Antarctic weather station at Heard Island from 1947 to 1949.[1][2] He authored the book *Fourteen Men: The Story of the Australian Antarctic Expedition to Heard Island*, published in 1951 by Allen & Unwin in London.[2] Scholes also wrote *Seventh Continent; Saga of Australasian Exploration in Antarctica*.[4]
