Willa Sibert Cather
Willa Sibert Cather was an American writer born in Back Creek Valley, Virginia, who moved to Nebraska as a child and drew inspiration from Great Plains pioneer life for her novels. She gained fame with her Prairie Trilogy—O Pioneers! (1913), The Song of the Lark (1915), and My Ántonia (1918)—and won the Pulitzer Prize in 1923 for One of Ours. Cather authored 12 novels, short stories, poetry, and essays, becoming one of the most significant American writers of the early 20th century.
