Wilhelm Busch

Wilhelm Busch (1832-1908) was one of Germany's most influential humorous poets and illustrators, best known for his illustrated stories such as 'Max and Moritz,' which are considered pioneering works of comic art. He was also an accomplished painter influenced by Dutch masters and combined humor with social criticism in his works. His career spanned from the 1860s until 1884, during which he created numerous illustrated narratives that established him as a pioneer of the comic medium.
