Wendy Wood
Wendy Wood, born Gwendoline Emily Meacham, was a Scottish independence campaigner, artist, sculptor, and writer known for her eccentric and theatrical political activism. She co-founded the National Party of Scotland in 1928, which later merged into the Scottish National Party, and authored ten books including her autobiography 'Yours Sincerely for Scotland.' Raised in South Africa after her birth in England, she became a colorful figure in nationalist circles, notably leading a flag protest at Stirling Castle in 1932.
