Wendy Lehnert

Wendy Grace Lehnert is an American computer scientist renowned for pioneering work in natural language processing, information extraction from text, and computational models of human question answering. She earned her Ph.D. from Yale University in 1977, taught at Yale until 1982, then joined the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she specialized in NLP and cognitive models until her retirement in 2011. In 1991, she was elected as an AAAI Fellow for her contributions to artificial intelligence.
