Weir S. Mitchell
Silas Weir Mitchell (1829–1914) was an American physician, neurologist, novelist, and poet. He is widely regarded as a father of American neurology and is known for pioneering treatments such as the rest cure, while also publishing fiction and poetry informed by his medical experience.
