Wayne Gould

Wayne Gould is a former Hong Kong judge and New Zealand puzzle enthusiast who is principally responsible for popularizing Sudoku puzzles globally after discovering them in Japan. He developed a computer program to mass-produce Sudoku puzzles, enabling their widespread publication in newspapers, and was named one of the top 100 most influential people by Time Magazine in 2005.
