Walter Ralegh

Sir Walter Ralegh (also spelled Raleigh) was an English statesman, soldier, explorer, and writer associated with the Elizabethan era. He played a major role in English colonial efforts in North America, served at Queen Elizabeth I's court, and later became known for works such as "The History of the World."
