Walker Evans

Walker Evans was an American photographer and a major figure in documentary photography, best known for his stark, unembellished images of ordinary American life during the Great Depression. His work, especially for the Farm Security Administration and in collaboration with James Agee on *Let Us Now Praise Famous Men*, helped define the visual language of modern documentary photography.
