W R Mitchell

William Reginald Mitchell MBE (1928–2015) was a British writer and editor best known for his long association with Dalesman magazine, which he edited for twenty years. Over a career spanning more than sixty years, he wrote more than 200 books and hundreds of articles on the history, geography, social history, and natural evolution of Northern England, especially the Yorkshire Dales, Lancashire, and the Lake District.
