W. D. Wetherell

W. D. Wetherell (Walter David Wetherell) is an American writer born in 1948 in Mineola, New York, who has authored over twenty-five books including novels, short story collections, memoirs, essays, and works on travel and history. He is best known for his fiction and nonfiction works on fly fishing and New England, and has received numerous literary awards including fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Drue Heinz Literature Prize, and the American Academy of Arts and Letters' Strauss Living Award. He currently resides in Lyme, New Hampshire.
