W Bruce Cameron
W. Bruce Cameron, born William Bruce Cameron on July 25, 1956, in Petoskey, Michigan, is an American author, columnist, and humorist best known for his novel *A Dog's Purpose*, a *New York Times* bestseller adapted into a film starring Dennis Quaid.[1][6] He began his career writing a family newspaper humor column that became internationally syndicated and also authored the bestselling *8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter*, adapted into an ABC sitcom.[1][2] Cameron has written numerous other works, including the *A Dog’s Purpose* series, *Emory’s Gift*, *The Dog Master*, and young reader novels like *Ellie’s Story*.[2]
