W. Arthur Lewis

W. Arthur Lewis (1915–1991) was a Saint Lucian economist and Nobel laureate best known for pioneering development economics and the Lewis dual-sector model of economic growth. He taught at institutions including the University of Manchester and later Princeton, and also served as an advisor and administrator on development matters in the Caribbean, Africa, and the United Nations.
