Virginia Myers

Virginia A. Myers (1927-2015) was an American artist, professor, and inventor best known for developing the Iowa Foil Printer, a technique for foil imaging in printmaking. Born in Greencastle, Indiana, she grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, earned her B.A. from the Corcoran School of Art in 1949 and M.F.A. from the California College of Arts and Crafts in 1951, and later taught at the University of Iowa after studying with Mauricio Lasansky.
