Vernon Lee

Vernon Lee was the pseudonym of Violet Paget (1856–1935), a French-born British writer known primarily for her supernatural fiction and influential work on aesthetics. She wrote over 40 books, including novels, short stories, travel essays, and studies of Italian art and music, while introducing the concept of empathy into English psychological aesthetics.
