Valerie Sherrard
Valerie Anne Sherrard (née Russell), born May 16, 1957, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, is a Canadian author inspired to write by her sixth-grade teacher while living in West Germany. She debuted with her first young adult novel in 2002 and has since published over 35 books for children and young adults, including award-winners like *The Glory Wind* and *Tumbleweed Skies*. She resides in Miramichi, New Brunswick, with her husband Brent, also an author, and has received numerous accolades, including the 2024 Lieutenant-Governor Award for High Achievement in Literary Arts.
