Val Biro

Val Biro was the pen name of Balint Stephen Biro, a Hungarian-born British author, illustrator, and artist known especially for children’s fiction and picture books. Born in Budapest in 1921, he moved to England in 1939, later became a prolific book jacket designer and illustrator, and lived for many years in Chesham and Amersham before his death in 2014.
