V C Andrews
Cleo Virginia Andrews (1923–1986) was an American novelist best known for her 1979 debut novel Flowers in the Attic, a Gothic horror tale that became a bestseller with over 40 million copies sold worldwide. Her novels combine Gothic horror and family saga, featuring themes of family secrets and forbidden love, and have remained popular among teenagers for decades. After her death from breast cancer, a ghostwriter has continued publishing books under her name.
