United States Bureau of the Mint

The United States Mint is a bureau of the Department of the Treasury established by the Coinage Act of 1792, with its first facility in Philadelphia, responsible for producing circulating coins, commemorative coins, and managing bullion reserves.[1][2] It operates active mints in Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco, and West Point, and has historically adapted to economic changes, wars, and technological advancements.[1][2] The Mint's headquarters are now in Washington, D.C., and it works alongside the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to supply physical currency.[3]
